At Mount Vernon a new permanent exhibit titled The Story of an American Icon: The biography of Mount Vernon Estate and Grounds.
At Anderson House a new exhibit: Revolutionary Beginnings: War and Remembrance in the First Year of America’s Fight for Independence.
At the United States Army Museum a new exhibit in commemoration of the Army’s 250th birthday: Call to Arms: The Soldier and the Revolutionary War

Fun Fact!

The Tidal Basin was once the site of one of Washington’s most popular beaches, featuring a diving platform and a cabana. The beach was segregated and the Senate voted to close the white bathing beach in 1925. It closed due to concerns about pollution and because of pressures from African American leaders to build a black bathing beach on the other side of the Tidal Basin.
